Shillong. Jul 21: Congress Spokesperson and Rangsakona legislator, Zenith M. Sangma on Wednesday said that nobody is in the race for the Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) chief.
“…but it is up to the high command and the president of the AICC to decide as to who should be the right person to hold the office of the president of MPCC,” Sangma said.
The Congress Spokesperson also said that the Congress has a robust system and he is not an authorized person to talk about the post of president of MPCC.
“…because the post of president is much higher than the post I am occupying now. In the right forum these things will be discussed,” he added.
It may be mentioned that there are indications that former Assembly Speaker Charles Pyngrope, sitting MLA Ampareen Lyngdoh and Lok Sabha member Vincent Pala are keen to head the party.
Earlier, there were also reports suggesting that Congress Legislature Party leader, Dr. Mukul Sangma is trying to project his younger brother and Rangsakona MLA for the post of MPCC chief.
