SHILLONG, Nov 9: The opposition Congress in the Meghalaya Assembly on Tuesday will be submitting a no confidence motion against the “council of ministers led by the incumbent Chief Minister.”
Leader of Opposition, Dr. Mukul Sangma informed that the no confidence motion will be tabled against the Council of Ministers of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government for their “complete failure” to protect the interest of the state.
“When people are looting and they don’t want to protect, this is too much…this is not the way,” Dr. Sangma told Shillong Mail when contacted.
It may be mentioned that the Congress wants to corner the ruling MDA on various issues like law and order and the alleged illegalities in coal mining and transportation.
The opposition Congress has 19 members in the House of 60.
