‘People need to respect nature’

Guwahati: World Environment Day – which is observed on 5 June every year across the globe – is the largest annual event for positive environmental action.

While observing the day, the Royal Global University (RGU) had planted saplings under the Gorchuk flyover (maintained by RGU), in its campus as well as had an interactive session(containing a short film) on WED to encourage awareness and action for the protection of our environment.

The theme being “Beat Plastic Pollution”, the interactive session strove to imply the changes in our everyday lives to reduce the heavy burden of plastic pollution.

On this occasion, Prof.(Dr.) S.P.Singh, Vice Chancellor, RGU urged all members present to save the environment by discarding all things plastic and start respecting Nature for it protects us.

He also urged everyone to plant more trees, use reusable materials and teach children the importance of saving the environment.

Prof.(Dr.) S.P.Singh, Vice Chancellor, Ms.Angira Mimani, Registrar, Prof.(Dr.)P.K.Goswami,former VC, ASTU,Prof.(Dr.)O.K.Medhi,Former VC, Gauhati University,Prof.(Dr.)B.Banerjee,Principal,RSET,  faculty and staff of Royal Global University planted saplings of various plants & trees donated by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and industry (FICCI FLO), Guwahati and have taken them home for planting.
