Places of worship to open from October

Shillong, Sept 7: Meghalaya government has announced that the places of worship in the state can be re-opened from first week of October if the COVID-19 situation improves.

The decision was taken during a meeting with representatives of various religious organizations chaired by chief minister Conrad K Sangma in Shillong on Monday.

Briefing the media, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informed that a sub-committee comprising of members from faith organizations headed by the Chief Secretary will be constituted to revisit SOPs to be put in place for the same.
