Shillong, April 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with chief ministers of all the states through video conferencing on Thursday to address focus areas in view of the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh were also present at the meeting.
During the meet, the Prime Minister directed state governments to ensure the supply of essential commodities including medicines, equipment in hospitals and to procure raw materials for medicine transports.
The state governments have been advised to develop COVID Hospitals dedicated towards COVID-19 related treatment and to train AYUSH Doctors, paramedics, NCC volunteers and create a robust network of volunteers ranging from NGOs, civil societies and all stakeholders.
The Prime Minister also directed state governments to follow Ministry of AYUSH’s “immunity enhancement guidelines” to boost one’s immunity to resist the virus and to allot Coronavirus testing labs in both District and State levels.
Other important issues discussed were ensuring balance in banking, reaping of farm products, helping farmers sustain their livelihoods and adopting Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC) model for the transportation of farm produce and the introduction of car-pooling facilities for farmers.
