Police recovers arms cache from NGH
Tura, Jan 25: North Garo Hills police have recovered quite a few arms and ammunitions from near the Rongbu area yesterday.
The weapons were all country made rifles and were allegedly to be used for dacoities by the gang, said a police officer of Kharkutta PS.
“We received information from sources of movement of suspected miscreants at Upper Rongbu village. Police reacted quickly and thoroughly searched the area. During the search operation, a number of local made guns and pistols were recovered. However the miscreants managed to flee, taking advantage of the cover of night,” said the NGH police chief.
