Shillong, Sep 18: A day after the Autumn Session of the Meghalaya Assembly ended; Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Saturday effected changes in his Ministers’ portfolios.
The Chief Minister took away, the Power department from Sangma and handed him the Health and Family Welfare department. Apart from this, he will be looking after Food, Civil Supplies & Consumers Affairs, Forests & Environment, Information & Public Relations, Law, Taxation, Registration & Stamps Departments.
Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong who was in charge of the Health and Family Welfare Department for a few months will now look after Power Department, Housing, Parliamentary Affairs and Public Works Department (Roads).
Sniawbhalang Dhar will handle Tourism. Commerce & Industries, Urban Affairs, Municipal Administration, General Administration and Fisheries departments.
Dasakhiatbha Lamare will look after Transport Department and Public Works Department (Buildings).
Earlier, it was reported that the changes could be affected before the Assembly Session which ended on September 17.
