Shillong, May 7: Meghalaya Chief Secretary M.S Rao, on Thursday, shared NEIGRIHMS new protocols regarding transfer of non COVID-19 critically ill patients, with his counterparts from other North East States.
The Chief Secretary requested for circulation of the protocols to all State Health Authorities, Hospitals and Health Institutions authorised to refer cases to NEIGRIHMS.
According to protocols issued by the D.M Thappa, Director of NEIGRIHMS, only critically ill non COVID-19 patients certified by the concerned State Health Authority, can seek treatment at the hospital.
“In view of COVID-19 pandemic, the number of accompanying attendants of the non COVID-19 critically ill patient, be limited to only one,” the protocol states.
At the border, the data of the ambulance, driver etc of the critically ill patients and accompanying patients must be maintained and certified by the State Health Authority, it read.
Thappa stated that only patient as mentioned above will be accepted till the Pandemic is over and attendants of the patients coming from other states will need to be quarantined for 14 days as per State Government directives.
