Shilling, Nov 24: Amidst resumed agitations by pressure groups demanding for ILP, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong today stated that the government is pursuing the matter vigorously.
“Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and me are continuously in talks with central government,” he said.
He added that had it been a subject under state government, it would have been done a ‘long time back.’
“This is purely a subject of central government so we need to convince, discuss with them,” he said.
Attacking former chief minister Dr. Mukul Sangma, Tynsong reminded that during congress rule, Mukul was against implementing ILP in the state.
“Congress under Mukul rejected ILP, under MDA we passed a resolution… From 2015-2018, did Mukul discuss ILP?” Tynsong questioned.
