Recoveries outnumber new COVID-19 cases in Meghalaya

SHILLONG, Nov 17: Meghalaya on Tuesday recorded one more death due to COVID-19, taking the toll to 102, health authorities informed. 

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that the death occurred on November 17 and was registered in West Garo Hills.

Timish B. Marak, 65 years of Dobasipara Tura, expired on November 17 at 3.00 am. 

According to Dr. War, initially she was brought to the hospital on November 15 and was tested positive.

Meanwhile, Meghalaya recorded 85 new cases taking the total number of active cases to 734.

Of the 85 new cases registered on Tuesday, 46 new cases were from East Khasi Hills District, 18 from West Garo Hills, 14 from South West Garo Hills, two each from East Garo Hills, Ri-Bhoi District and South Garo hills and one from East Jaintia Hills-

The state also recorded 283 recovered cases, taking the total number of such cases to 9955.

Of the new recoveries, 172 patients from Ri Bhoi district, 64 from east Khasi Hills, 15 from South Garo Hills, 14 from West Jaintia Hills, 8 from South West Garo Hills, 4 from West Garo Hills, three from East Jaintia Hills, two from East Garo Hills and one from West Khasi hills.
