SHILLONG, Mar 4: The Anti-Corruption and Human Development Organisation (ACHDO) has demanded State Bank of India (SBI) authorities to immediately operationalise the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) at Chibinang Branch, West Garo Hills.
According to, ACHDO president, Ishraful Hoque, a new ATM has been installed in the branch days back but is yet to be opened for the public.
According to Hoque thousands of bank customers are facing problems, since just to activate the ATM (Password generation) customers of the said branch have to go to Phulbari Branch which is a waste of money and time.
The ACHDO met the Branch Manager who informed them that the ATM is not functioning due to lack of sufficient voltage.
The organisation has requested both the bank authorities as well as power supplier the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) to solve the matter as soon as possible.
