Shillong, May 4: The government on Tuesday informed that there is enough stock of essential commodities in the state.
“The citizens of the State should not worry that the state has enough stock of essential commodities,” Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong informed media persons after the review meeting.
Tynsong also informed that the government of India has also sanctioned free five kilograms of rice to each member of a family for the AAY and PHH category under the PMGKAY scheme for the months of May and June.
The Deputy Chief Minister also informed that the state government has also already paid for the cost of 42000 vaccines to the Serum Institute.
“It will reach the state within a few days time,” Tynsong informed.
The Deputy Chief Minister also informed that each vaccine will cost Rs. 300 each.
However, the vaccines will be available free of cost for the people of the state.
He also informed that the 42000 vaccines is meant for those in the age group of 18-44 years.
Tynsong also informed that of the 200 persons who are hospitalised 180 are being administered oxygen.
