Shillong, Apr 8: The State recorded another COVID-19 death, taking the number of fatalities due to the virus to 151, health authorities informed on Thursday.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War said that the death was recorded in East Khasi Hills district.
Dr. War also informed that the State recorded 25 new cases, taking the number of active cases to 131.
There was only one recovered case, taking the total to 13883.
Of the 131 active cases, East Khasi Hills has 90 (armed forces/para military forces – 12 and others 78), West Garo Hills – 24 (armed forces/para military forces – two and others – 22.
Ri-Bhoi district has 11 active cases, East Jaiñtia Hills – three West Khasi Hills – two and West Jaiñtia Hills – one.
Dr. War informed that the total persons tested till date is 4,14,890 out of which 4,00,725 samples tested negative.
The Director of Health Services also informed that 14165 are confirmed cases.
According to Dr. War vaccination achievement for health care workers till Thursday afternoon is 22,531 (first dose) and 15,639 (second dose).
The vaccination achievement for frontline workers till date is 33,134 who received the first dose out of which 20,197 received their second dose.
Meanwhile, the vaccination achievement for the general public based on the eligible age group is 42,724 who received the first dose and 2525 have received their second dose.
