Shillong, Sep 13: The State health officials on Sunday collected the swab samples of the Power Minister James K Sangma for the RT-PCR test.
Tested positive for COVID-19 at Bir Tikendrajit International airport on Saturday, Sangma reached Shillong city to undergo home quarantine and also RT-PCR test.
On his journey to Shillong, Sangma’s escort team, including four constables suffered injuries when their pilot vehicle met with an accident at Nagaon, Assam.
Meghalaya Police Spokesperson, Gabriel Ïangrai informed that four police officials who were inside the pilot vehicle were immediately sent to Civil Hospital, Nagaon for medical assistance whereas, the minister has been escorted to his official residence in Shillong.
The Spokesperson also informed that both the damaged vehicles have been taken to Nonoi Out-Post for observation of legal procedures and police officials of the State are coordinating with the counterparts of Assam for further necessary action.
