TopCem Cements conducts masonary training

SHILLONG, Mar 27: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibliity (CSR) initiative, TopCem Cements started its “mason skill training” programme.

The training programme which started on March 26, had 30 masons who undertook theory classes along with practical sessions and demonstration in skill development.

“Our endeavour has been to contribute towards the growth of the local skill development keeping in view the requirement and government priorities. This attempt is a start up for TopCem Cement and would like to take this further for active participation of the youth,” Dr Anil Kapur, president, Sales and Marketing, TopCem Cements said.

The TopCem Mason Skill Development training programme is based on national occupational standards  and qualification packs of the National Skill Development Council.

The programme enables TopCem Cements to engage and improve relations with key stakeholders while at the same time help the masons increase their skills and income oppurtunities.

TopCem is a large integrated cement plant located in Meghalaya on NH 44, at Village Thangskai, District East Jaintia Hills with clinkerization capacity of 2600 tons per day and 3600 tons of cement per day along with its grinding unit located at Amingaon, Guwahati, Assam.

The plant also has its own 10 MW Captive Power Plant to ensure 100% uninterrupted power availability. The plant is based on advanced dry process rotary kiln technology with twin multistage pre heaters and completely automized through DCS system.
