Total cases in Meghalaya have risen to 9

Shillong, June 30: Number of COVID-19 cases has risen to 52 in Meghalaya after one person coming into the State tested positive for the virus on Tuesday. 

The total number of coronavirus positive cases in the state has risen to nine.

State Health and Family Welfare Minister, A. L. Hek informed that one person who arrived from Assam to Khliehriat tested positive for coronavirus.

According to the health minister, the person was on his way to Khliehriat, East Jaintia Hills.

He also informed that the person is the Branch Manager of SBI Khliehriat Branch and was recently appointed there.

Meanwhile, Director of Health Service (MI), Dr. Aman Warr informed that the person instead of getting himself tested, directly went to Khliehriat. 

Dr. Warr admitted that there was a communication gap since he had not registered so they were thinking that he will come and give his samples at Shillong Civil Hospital and stated that they will improve the system.
