SHILLONG, Apr 4: The United Democratic Party (UDP) on Thursday said that it was “undemocratic” on the part of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) to release its report on the eve of an election.
Working president of the UDP, Allantry Franklin Dkhar said, “The timing of releasing the report is highly questionable. They didn’t find anything against our candidate (Jemino Mawthoh) and so they released this report on governance.”
It may be mentioned that Meghalaya will vote on April 11 during the first phase of the Lok Sabha polls.
It may be mentioned that the ADR Report in its survey conducted in 2018 stated that the voters priorities in Meghalaya have largely been neglected by the government in power.
According to Dkhar the National People’s Party (NPP) led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) Government is in power for only one year and the organisation giving a report during this period raises eyebrows.
The UDP working president also disregarded the ADR Report and termed it as a marketing company’s ploy to sell its product.
