Ward’s Lake, Lum Nehru Park & Elephant Falls to reopen from Sep 1

Shillong, Aug 28: The Meghalaya Government has decided to reopen Ward’s Lake, Lum Nehru Park and Elephant Falls from September 1 in a bid to restart the tourism sector.

Cabinet Minister A. L Hek informed that a review meeting was held today wherein it was decided that these tourist spots will be reopened for local tourists.

He assured that these tourist spots will be opened in accordance with COVID-19 health protocols to ensure the safety of all tourists and staffs.

“After a long discussion, the government found that it seemed to be a wise decision,” the minister said, adding that it would provide citizens space to ‘move around.’
