With 3 fresh cases, Meghalaya’s COVID-19 tally reaches 33

Shillong, June 3: Meghalaya recorded three new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, two from East Khasi Hills, and one from West Jaintia Hills.
The total coronavirus tally in the state has reached 33, 19 are still active, 13 have recovered, and one died on April 15.
Health and Family Welfare Minister A L Hek said that the patients had returned to Meghalaya from Agra in Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Goa.
He informed that two of the patients have been admitted to a corona care centre in Shillong and the third patient has been admitted at a corona care centre in Jowai. West Jaintia Hills is the newest district which has recorded a COVID-19 positive case.
Hek also added that the first patient from West Garo Hills district has recovered after his samples tested negative.
All the current active COVID-19 cases are of persons returning from ‘red-zone’ areas outside the state.
