SHILLONG, Mar 16: AICC general secretary and sitting MLA from Rangsakona constituency, Zenith Sangma, said that Chief Minister and National People’s Party chief, Conrad K Sangma cannot keep lying to the innocent people of Meghalaya.
“Everyone is educated now and everyone knows the Constitution and our rights. With hundreds of people siding over to the Congress party on a daily basis, we can see the resentment of people towards the BJP and the NPP,” the Rangsakona MLA said.
Sangma was speaking during a function where hundreds of people from different political parties joined the Congress in Resubelpara, North Garo Hills on Saturday.
Sangma also appealed to the people of Resubelpara and the whole of Garo Hills to think for the betterment of the future to wisely choose an experienced candidate like Dr Mukul Sangma who can represent needs and wishes of our people of Garo Hills in the centre as member of Parliament.
Meanwhile, Meghalaya Pradesh Youth Congress (MPYC) president Richard Marak, expressed happiness to witness that a large number of people from Garo Hills are realising the anti people policies of the BJP party in Garo Hills.
“Thus we can see the exodus of people joining the Congress party everywhere in the country,” Marak said.
According to the MPYC president, the BJP has set its base in Meghalaya through NPP and Conrad and thus to be done away with BJP the people need to vote away the NPP from power in the State.
Marak stated that various issues like the demonitization and the CAB and its detrimental repercussions will have on the masses if the BJP or its allies in the states are voted back to power this elections.
He further stated that It is only the Congress party which can fight against the BJP in the centre and since this is the opportunity to redeem the people from the evil and draconian policies of the BJP even as he appealed the electorates of Garo Hills to vote for the dynamic Dr Sangma.
The party workers from different political parties joined the Congress party in the presence of Zenith Sangma, MPYC President Richard Marak, Chokpot MLA Lazarus Sangma and Mendipathar MLA Marthon Sangma.
NCP candidates from the last assembly election for Resubelpara and Kharkutta Constituency, Dr Tweel Marak and Mr Priyam Sangma, Independent Candidates – Starline Momin and Tengrak Marak also attended the meeting programme and expressed their happiness to extend their full support to the Congress party for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
