9 arrested for assault in city

Shillong, May 6: East Khasi Hills police on Thursday arrested nine persons for the alleged involvement in the assault of three people in Mawbah locality of Shillong.

According to East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (SP), S. Nongtnger on May 5 at around 5:30 pm the victims were assaulted at Nepali Graveyard by around 30 miscreants who were wearing masks.

“The victims are admitted in hospital, Shillong. Accordingly, a case vide Lumdiengjri P.S Case no. 45(05)2021 U/S 326/307/34 IPC has been registered,” Nongtnger said.

The SP said that further investigation is on to nab the other culprits.
