Assembly session cut short due to COVID-19

SHILLONG, Mar 16: The Meghalaya Assembly on Monday has adjourned the ongoing budget session till March 19.

“The House would assemble for just one more day on March 19, following which it would be adjourned,” Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh said after he had convened the meeting with senior legislators including the Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma, Leader of Opposition, Dr Mukul Sangma, Parliamentary Minister, Prestone Tynsong, health minister A.L Hek, senior legislator from the Congress Charles Pyngrope and legislator Balajied Synrem in his chamber.

According to Speaker, the government will pass a vote-on-account on March 19. A reassembled budget session will be held on before June to pass the full budget.
