Shillong, May 9: The Meghalaya government has requested state residents to call 108, if they visited Guwahati Medical College or Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati in the last 14 days for treatment or other purposes.
Sampath Kumar, Commissioner and Secretary (Health), informed that a Post Graduate student of Guwahati Medical College has been tested positive for COVID-19 on May 7th and another COVID-19 death has been reported from Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute Guwahati on the same day.
“Any person from Meghalaya who has visited the Guwahati Medical College or Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute for treatment or other purposes during the last 14 days w.e.f 23rd April is requested to register by calling helpline 108,” he stated.
All such persons have been requested to be under strict home quarantine along with their families.
“The health and family welfare department would get in touch with all those who register,” Kumar added.
