Shillong: Hosted by Pet’s Care Shillong in association with Marketing Wire, pet lovers around the state can snap on the best pictures of all things dog and cats and stick around for a photo contest this 20th of May.
Pet owners around the state will gather in a unified online platform (Facebook and Instagram) this May for the “My Pet Star” event.
When asked why the contest by Dr. Alice Suantak, owner Pet’s Care Shillong, here’s what she had to say, “Pets bring more to our lives than just a few laughs. They give us a better quality of life and comes with a dose of benefits — psychological well-being and joy. Caring and rearing pets demands time, attention and passion. Through this initiative we want to encourage pet owners to continue caring for their pets — and indulge in some fun activity with their pets.
We want to bring together a community of pet lovers and build a healthy platform to engage and interact with regards to their pet care. We want to create an awareness about the importance of pet health care. Most importantly, create a digital forum to showcase their pets and make them a star.”
There will be a total of 12 categories; eight for dogs and four for cats respectively. Each of these will work as an individual identifier required to narrow down and to showcase what each pet has to offer.
This will be a good test for pet owners, to be able to test their dogs to see if they are considered a “Star”, as the winners will be decided based on social media interactions and engagement, making the entire event transparent.
With the event being solely online we ask a quick thought from Badal Nyalang, Founder – Marketing Wire and here is what he shared. “The idea from our end is to basically leverage online platforms like Facebook and Instagram and bring in all the pet owners of the state in a unified stage as they work to share the best of their pets and not to forget there are prizes for each category, so it’ll be worth the effort.”
With the buzz created solely on social media, the expected turnout is yet to unfold. With the number of pet owners increasing in the state, we can only predict a huge number of pets showing up.
The event runs online from the 20th of May to the 20th of June (One month)
