Shillong, January 17: A team of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance government led by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday.
The delegation led by CM Conrad would leave for Delhi on Thursday afternoon.
According to Chief Minister, the delegation will be meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss over the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016, including the coal issue.
The Chief Minister said, in the meeting we will air our opposition over the Citizenship (Amendment) bill, 2016 and express the concerns of the people of Meghalaya.
He also said the delegation would also urged the centre to exempt Meghalaya from the purview of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957, Coal Mines Nationalization Act, 1973.
