Shillong, Mar 11: The opposition Congress members in the Assembly has decided to table a breach of privilege against Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma, leader of opposition Dr. Mukul Sangma informed on Thursday.
“In order to prevent this precedence to carry on in future, yes this particular act of the Chief Minister wherein he has deliberately with predetermined motive misinformed the august House require the members to complain for breach of privilege of the House,” Dr. Sangma said.
The leader of opposition said that the Chief Minister had recently, misinformed the House that even though the state does not take power from NTPC yet it has to pay Rs 11 crore monthly.
The leader of opposition said that they (government) were trying to play to the gallery, but worst thing they have misinformed which amounts to breach of privilege of the House.
Dr. Sangma alleged that this was done with the sheer malafide and pre-determined intent to engage in a narrative and hide the facts which require their (government’s) attention and correction.
The Congress leader said that in order to prevent this precedence in future the members need to complain for breach of privilege of the House.
