Shillong, Mar 6: Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma on Saturday has reacted to opposition leader, Dr. Mukul Sangma’s statement that making the Chief Minister and his brother and Power Minister James Sangma quit was the only way to save the flagging power sector in the State.
Speaking to Shillong Mail, the Chief Minister said that he is holding the post of Chief Minister because of the support of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance, MLAs who are supporting the coalition government and the people of the State.
“He (Dr. Sangma) has given his personal opinion,” Sangma said.
The Chief Minister also added that about the situation that MeECL is facing right now he will be giving a detailed report when he replies to the Governor’s address.
“So that time most of the clarifications would come out,” the Chief Minister added.
On Friday, the Congress legislator and leader of opposition said that the only correction which is required to be made now is to throw out the Chief Minister and the Power Minister.
“Someone else has to take charge, for the greater good of the people of the state. Nothing else will resolve the crisis. They will not solve this crisis since their intent and priorities are different,” Dr. Sangma had said.
