Shillong, May 11: The person who has recently tested positive for coronavirus in Meghalaya broke quarantine protocols, informed the Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman Warr on Monday.
The woman, who is in her 30’s broke the quarantine period to buy meat for the family, Dr. Warr said.
According to government reports, the woman is a maid in the residence of the first COVID-19.
When asked about the family members of the patient, the Director of Health Services (MI) said, the woman’s relatives have not shown symptoms of the virus.
However, he said people who have been exposed to someone with coronavirus are now considered at high and low risk.
The Director of Health Services (MI) also informed that the contact tracing is on.
He also informed that the contact tracing team of the health department has requested everyone who came into contact with the person to self-isolate.
Dr. Warr also said that the person who came into contact with the person should follow the health advisory.
“Immediate medical attention must be sought if serious signs or symptoms including difficulty in breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, mental confusion, developing bluish discolorations of lips/face develop,” he added.
It may be informed that the woman had gone into home quarantine since April 14, a day after the first COVID-19 patient was detected in Meghalaya.
