Shillong, Oct 28: The Meghalaya Directorate of Civil Defence and Home Guards has launched a campaign to spread awareness on the importance of COVID-19 appropriate behaviours in all 11 districts of the state.
Civil Defence & Home Guards Public Relations Officer, Paul H Shylla, stated that the aim of the campaign was to sensitize the public towards appropriate and responsible behaviour during the unlock stage of COVID-19 and festive season.
“Posters reminding citizens about COVID appropriate behaviours such as wearing of masks/ face covering, frequent washing of hands with soap and water/ sanitizer and maintaining of social distance (6 feet) and administration of the Pledge is all part of this campaign,” the statement read.
Shylla informed that the office of the Deputy Controllers of Civil Defence in all districts of the State, has been actively engaged in the campaign in their own district.
“As per the directive of the Ministry of Home Affairs to the Civil Defence and Home Guards organization in the Country, the Campaign will last for two months, i.e. October and November,” it read.
