SHILLONG, Oct 7: Meghalaya on Wednesday recorded 128 new cases of COVID-19 with the most detected in East Khasi Hills with 72 (armed and paramilitary forces seven, others 65), Ri-Bhoi 33 (armed and paramilitary forces one, others 32, West Garo Hills 11 (armed and paramilitary forces one, others 10, East Garo Hills four, South Garo Hills three, West Jaintia Hills and East Jaintia Hills two each and North Garo Hills one.
The total active cases in Meghalaya now stands at 2411.
Meanwhile, a total of 88 new recoveries were also recorded on Wednesday.
The district wise break up of the new recovered cases are – East Khasi Hills 69 (armed and paramilitary forces three, others 66), East Jaintia Hills seven, North Garo Hills five, West Garo Hills five and Ri-Bhoi two.
With this the total number of recovered cases in Meghalaya now stands at 4694.
Meghalaya has so far recorded 7165 COVID-19 positive cases of which 60 died of the virus.
