Shillong, Apr 2: Meghalaya on Friday recorded 15 more COVID-19 cases even as one recovered from the virus, health authorities informed.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that of the 15 new cases East Khasi Hills district recorded (Armed Force/Paramilitary Force- one, Others- 12), one was from West Garo Hills and one from West Khasi Hills. The lone recovered case was also recorded from East Khasi Hills district.
With the 15 new cases the number of active case has risen to 64 and the total recovered cases till Friday afternoon stand at 13868.
East Khasi Hills district is the most affected with 34 cases (Armed Forces/Para Military Forces – six and Others 28), West Garo Hills 23, Ri-Bhoi – six and West Khasi Hills district – one.
The total number of persons tested till Friday afternoon is 4,06,446 of which 3,92,364 tested negative and 14082 are confirmed cases.
Meanwhile, Dr. War informed that the vaccination achievement for health care workers till Friday afternoon for the first dose is 22,460 out of which 15,154 have received their second dose.
The vaccination achievement of frontline workers for the first dose is 32,802 out of which 18,293 has received their second dose, while for the general public based on the eligible age group 30,909 have so far received their first dose of which 190 received their second dose.
