COVID-19: Meghalaya records 22 recoveries and five new cases

Shillong, Feb 14: Meghalaya on Sunday recorded more recovered COVID-19 cases than fresh ones, health authorities informed. 

Director of Health Services (MI) Dr. Aman War informed that the state recorded five new cases and 22 recovered from the virus. 

With this the total number of active cases has come down to 149 and the total recovered cases stands at 13645.

Dr. War informed that of the five new cases, four were recorded in East Khasi Hills and one in West Jaiñtia Hills. 

Of the 22 recovered cases, 15 are from East Khasi Hills and seven from Ri-Bhoi. 

East Khasi Hills remains as the most affected district with 98 active cases. 

The Garo Hills region currently has only one active case, in West Garo Hills. 

A total number of 3,54,157 persons have been tested for COVID-19 out of which 3,40,251 samples were negative. 

The number of persons who have entered the state till Sunday afternoon since restrictions on travelling were eased is 91,439.

Dr. War also informed that the total number of health care workers vaccinated till February 14 are, first dose -11605 and second dose is 91.

He also informed that the total number of frontline workers vaccinated till February 14 (first dose) is 2323.
