Shillong, May 10: Meghalaya on Monday recorded five more COVID-19 fatalities and 407 new infections, health authorities informed.
Health authorities informed that of the five new fatalities four are from East Khasi Hills district and one from Ri-Bhoi district.
According to Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War the total deaths are now 233 and the total active cases gone up to 3062.
Of the 409 new cases East Khasi Hills recorded 202, Ri-Bhoi 128, West Garo Hills 25, West Jaintia Hills 20, East Jaintia Hills 19, South Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills district six each, and South West Garo Hills three.
The state also recorded 241 new recoveries taking the total number of recovered cases to 16834.
East Khasi Hills district has the highest number of active cases with 1,749, Ri-Bhoi 459, West Garo Hills 247, East Jaintia Hills 134, West Khasi Hills 126, West Jaintia Hills 120, South West Garo Hills 81, South Garo Hills 55, East Garo Hills 38, North Garo Hills 36 and South West Khasi Hills 17.
A total of 4, 87, 843 COVID-19 tests were conducted out of which 4, 67, 714 tested negative for the virus.
Since the start of the pandemic, the state has recorded 20129 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
