COVID-19: Meghalaya records one new case, three recovers

Shillong, Feb 23: Meghalaya on Tuesday recorded one new COVID-19 case and three recovered from the virus, health authorities informed.

Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman War informed that the lone cases detected was recorded in South West Garo Hills and of the three recovered cases two were recorded in East Khasi Hills and one from West Jaintia Hills district.

With this the number of active cases in the State has come down to 17 and the total recovered cases are 13787.

East Khasi Hills has 17 active cases and one each in West Khasi Hills, East Jaintia Hills and South West Garo Hills.

The total number of persons tested for COVID-19 till date is 3,63,076 out of which 3,49,121 persons tested negative and the number of confirmed cases is 13955.

The number of test conducted on February 23 is approximately 1200.

The number of entrants from outside of Meghalaya, till Tuesday afternoon is 92, 713.

Dr. War informed that the total number of health care workers vaccinated till date is 16558 (first dose) and 2247 (second dose).

The total number of frontline workers vaccinated till date is 16745 (first dose).
