SHILLONG, May 21: The North-Eastern Sector (NES), CRPF observed the anti-terrorism day in befitting manner on Monday morning.
On this occasion, Prakash D, IPS, IGP, NES, CRPF, Shillong administered a pledge on the subject. On this occasion, all Senior Officers and Jawans of CRPF located at Shillong also taken the pledge.
Anti-terrorism day is observed on May 21 each year on the occasion of death anniversary of late Prime Minister Ravjiv Gandhi.
The objective behind observance of this day is to wean away the youth from terrorism and the cult of violence by highlighting the suffering of common people and showing as to how it is prejudicial to the national interest.
The IGP said in his address that CRPF is a major anti-terrorist operations force in the country. CRPF is working relentlessly to free the society from the clutches of terror and terror related activities.
