Five killed in Tyngnger road accident

SHILLONG, Sept 2: Five people among them one minor died today after their vehicle skidded off a road at Tyngnger village of East Khasi Hills.

Tyngnger village is around 65 Kms from Shillong and falls under Mawsynram police station.

According to Superintendent of Police (City) Steve Rynjah, the vehicle Mahindra Max vehicle bearing a registration number ML-06 3673 was overloaded.

The SP City said that mechanical issues could have led to the accident.

However, he said that the reason of the accident will only be confirmed through the MVI report.

Police have said the five victims are all women including a 12 year old minor girl who belongs to Dewsaw village.

The other four who died in the accident are Bisilo Rodborne (37) of Tyngnger village, Sillamery Katrai (52) of Dewsaw village, Aitildabon Jeengaph (70) of Dewsaw village and Nancy Laitthma (38) also of Dewsaw village.
