Shillong, Feb 26: The Meghalaya Cabinet has decided to reimburse the income tax payable by all India service officers serving in the state.
Informing media persons Deputy Chief Minister, Prestone Tynsong said that the government will reimburse the income tax paid by the all India service officers by 95 percent.
“We have done this because we understand that senior officers coming from various parts of the country are serving the state and we wanted to make some special incentives for them,” Tynsong informed.
Tynsong said that the incentive by the government to extend special package is its desire to do something good for the All India service officers.
According to the Deputy Chief Minister an amount of Rs. 1.45 crore will be incurred by the government for reimbursing 95 percent IT returns to All India Service cadres.
The deputy chief minister also informed that the State government employees working outside the state like in the different Meghalaya Houses, will also be provided with reimbursement package annually.
