SHILLONG, Apr 17: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, on Friday, said that grocery and other essential commodity shops will be open to public for 4 days per week from Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 4pm.
He said that from Friday to Sunday, pickup from whole sale shops will be allowed. “These 3 days won’t be open for public,” he said.
It was also revealed that under PM Kisan Yojana, 25,830 farmers have been released an amount of Rs 2000 each.
Distribution for April & May quotas under the National Food Security Act and Non-NFSA act have started. It was informed that free food grains under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana for the month of April have been released from Food Corporation of India and are ready for distribution.
Further, it was informed that 1000 MT rice under open-market sale scheme are being distributed.
He also informed that a total of 1.36 Lakh Unorganised Labourers have been registered for Special Assistance of Rs 2100. 9,302 labourers have been provided 3,000 under BOCW Act.
The number of persons who registered for CM’s special grant for stranded people were 6,052 out of which 458 have been verified till date
