Hero Indian Women’s League: Defending Champions Eastern Sporting Union win opening game

SHILLONG, Mar 26: Defending Champions Eastern Sporting Union and Rising Student Club won their respective matches in the Hero Indian Women’s League.

The Hero Indian Women’s League which kicked off Monday saw defending Champions Eastern Sporting Union taking on Indira Gandhi Academy for Sports and Education.

The match was enthralling with Eastern Sporting Union getting the better of their opponents and winning 3-2.

For Eastern Sporting Union, the goalscorers were Irom Prameshwari Devi (2 goals) and Kashmina (1).

Meanwhile, R. Sandhiya Ranganathan and Promita Sit of Indira Gandhi ASE scored one apiece.

The second match of the day saw Rising Student Club take on Gokulam Kerala FC where which was won by the former with a 2-0 comfortable margin.

For Rising Student Club Ngoubi Devi and Anju Tamang found the target.

Tuesday will see just one game being played with KRYHPSA taking on SETHU, Madurai at 11 am.

The organisers has urged football lovers to come and watch the match which is free and open to all.
