Shillong, Dec 8: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma on Tuesday stated that he is willing to accompany Governor Satya Pal Malik to Delhi to discuss Inner Line Permit with central leadership, if invited.
“Regarding going to Delhi it will be appropriate if governor will make his own schedules, if he desires I accompany him, then i will go,” he said.
He stated that the Governor told him that he would like to work for the interest of the state adding ‘Governor Satya Pal Malik has also understood the needs and requirements of people of the state and so it’s a conscious decision from his end to work with people of the state to try and move in that aspect.’
He added that he will be meeting the Governor tomorrow along with Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong to discuss various issues including the Meghalaya Residents Safety and Security Act.
It may be mentioned that last Friday, a delegation of the Confederation of Meghalaya Social Organisations (CoMSO) met with Malik as a part of their movement for implementation of ILP in the state as well as MRSSA.
