James asks BJP leaders to take up issues in right platform

Shillong, Jan 14: National People’s Party (NPP) leader and Dadenggre MLA, James Sangma on Thursday said that the BJP which is a coalition partner in the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) government should be raising issues of the government in the right forum.

“BJP is very much part of the government and we have always made it very clear that anything that needs to be discussed, or concerns need to be raised can be raised at the right platform. Wherein we all come, sit together and discuss,” Sangma told reporters.

The Meghalaya Unit of the BJP on Wednesday evening met national president J. P. Nadda.

According to Meghalaya BJP president, Ernest Mawrie, during the meeting, the state unit informed that discussed the issue of corruption in the autonomous district councils of Jaintia Hills and Garo Hills.

Stating that in a democracy, anyone can raise issues and meet with leader in the government of India, Sangma said, “But the matter is that these also have to be substantiated by evidences and hard facts. Now just saying for the sake of saying, is something that I feel is very irresponsible.”
