Shillong, June 25: Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) Deputy Chief Executive Member Gigur Myrthong on Thursday informed that the total revenue collected in the year 2019-2020 is Rs 17,87,13,074.
Gigur, in his reply to a supplementary query by MDC PN. Syiem revealed that Rs 25,54,069 was collected as Land revenue and Rs 2,35,68,611 from the forest department.
He also stated that Rs 1, 53, 00,000 was generated as revenue from major minerals and Rs 5 crore from minor minerals.
Myrthong added that the KHADC will find ways and means to generate more revenue from tax and other sources.
Meanwhile, in his reply to a query raised by Congress MDC Ronnie Lyngdoh, regarding the total amount spent by the Council on salaries of the MDCs, staff and employees, Myrthong informed that it was Rs 4,50,00,000 per month.
