Tura, Apr 7: Independent candidate who contested from the Rajabala constituency in the last MLA elections of 2018, Zinba Sangma has announced his support to Congress and parliamentary candidate, Dr Mukul Sangma.
Zinba joined the Congress in presence of Rangsakona MLA and Mukul’s brother, Zenith Sangma and the local INC MLA, Azad Zamanduring a rally at Rajabala in West Garo Hills (WGH) two days ago.
Addressing the rally after joining the Congress, Zinba said, “We need to change from what has happened over the past few decades and support Congress and Mukul Sangma for development of Garo Hills. PA Sangma and his family has been in trend with promises and dreams but these are still to see the light of day. How long will it take the kin of late PA Sangma to realize his dreams? I also want to know what dreams they are talking of as I have been hearing about these from my childhood.”
“After few years they will be celebrating a Golden Jubilee in fooling the people of Garo Hills, so I don’t want to be a part of it being fooled again. I have never voted for Congress but this time, I am standing for development alongside Dr Mukul,” he added.
Zinba also hit out at the BJP, who are allied to the NPP in the state for making laws against the mandate of the people of the country as well as the NPP for what he termed a charade over CAB.
He further called the performance of NPP candidate, Agatha poor while stating that as CM, Mukul had left an imprint for all to see within the state.
