SHILLONG, Feb 17: Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma today said that he will be leading a delegation of Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) coalition to New Delhi to seek an appointment with Home Minister, Amit Shah.
“I fact we are going tomorrow to Delhi. We have sought an appointment with the Home Minister Amit Shah. I hope we will be getting the appointment, the Chief Minister said.
Conrad also said that appointment to meet the Union Home Minister has been sought for February 18 evening or February 19 morning but confirmation is yet to come.
It may be mentioned that the Meghalaya Assembly had on December 19 last year passed a resolution to implement Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Meghalaya.
Soon after passing the resolution a delegation of the Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) met the Home Minister but were told to come after Christmas.
The meet to discuss ILP was again postponed on two occasions.
The last time when the Chief Minister met Shah, the former was told to come after the Delhi elections.
