Shillong, July 03: The Meghalaya Democratic Alliance has informed that they will appoint former MLA of Ranikor as Chairman of the State Planning Board (SPB).
Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said that former legislator, Martin M Danggo will be appointed as Co-Chairman of the State Planning Board.
Danggo will be seeking for votes in the upcoming by-election since he had resigned as MLA as well from the party.
The former legislator will be contesting on NPP ticket.
Going by reports in the media, Danggo would not be a common candidate in the Ranikor by-polls since the alliance partners like the UDP, PDF has disagreed to support the NPP official candidate.
When asked about the alliance decision, Tynsong said that they had not asked their partners to support the official candidate of the party.
The Deputy Chief Minister said, its upto the alliance partners to think as they were free to put up candidates not only in Ranikor but even in South Tura.
“Every political parties have got their own ideology. Nobody can stop them from contesting elections,” Deputy Chief Minister said.
