Shillong, April 21: Meghalaya Chief Minister and NPP Supremo Conrad Sangma on Sunday condemned the multiple bomb blasts in Colombo in which at least 185 people died and more than 400 sustained injuries.
Condemning the attack, Conrad tweeted “I Condemn the attack on Churches and innocent lives which took place in Sri Lanka.”
“May the Almighty give courage to the members of the bereaved families to be able to bear the loss and the strength to forgive those who have acted so mercilessly,” he added.
Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition, Dr Mukul Sangma wrote “I condemn the barbaric terror attacks on innocent & peace loving people.”
As many as 185 people were killed and over 400 injured after explosions in three churches and three hotels in and around the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo.
The blast took place at several high-end hotels and a church in Colombo, while two other churches were targeted outside Colombo.
The first explosions were reported at St Anthony’s Church in Colombo and St Sebastian’s Church at Katuwapitiya in the town of Negombo.
Soon after, four other blasts were confirmed by the police. Three of those were at hotels, while another was reported from a church in the town of Batticaloa.
