Shillong, Apr 2: The Meghalaya government on Friday revised its protocols for people coming from certain states of the country.
In a notification issued on Friday, Principal Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Sampath Kumar stated, “A negative RT-PCR report is mandatory for persons coming from the States of Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Madhva Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh and Gujarat. RAT negative report shall not be valid for persons coming from these States. The COVID negative report will be valid only if they were tested within 72 hours of their arrival at the entry point.”
Kumar stated that for those persons who do not have a COVID negative report, sample for RT-PCR testing shall be taken at the entry point on payment basis. Such persons shall proceed to their residence or place of stay and shall be quarantined until the test results are declared.
