SHILLONG, Aug 31: Meghalaya on Monday recorded 26 new COVID-19 cases and 113 recoveries, health minister, A. L. Hek said.
According to Hek East Khasi Hills recorded 14 new cases all from the others category, West Garo Hills – five (four armed/paramilitary forces and others one), East Jaintia Hills – four, West Khasi Hills – one, Ri-Bhoi – one and South West Garo Hills – one. The total active cases now stands at 1196.
Meghalaya also saw a record number of recoveries – 113 in a single day which help in bringing down the number of active cases.
The health minister informed that East Khasi Hills recorded 80 recoveries, West Garo Hills – 26, East Jaintia Hills – three, Ri-Bhoi – two and North Garo Hills – two. The state has so far recorded 1162 recoveries.
Meanwhile, a total of 88, 963 samples have been sent for testing till date out of which, 85, 924 samples tested negative and the results of 671 samples are awaited even as a total of 32, 573 people have entered the state.
