SHILLONG, Jul 27: Meghalaya recorded 19 fresh COVID-19 cases till 10 am on Monday even as 38 patients recovered from the virus.
Of these new cases East Khasi Hills district recorded 17 cases, with civilians accounting for 15 of them, armed forces one and Border Security Force (BSF) one.
Both East Jaintia Hills and West Garo Hills recorded one fresh cases each.
With the new cases, the total active cases as on Monday morning has gone upto 543.
The district wise break up of the cases are East Khasi Hills clocked 441 active cases, out of which 245 are from the BSF, civilians 170 and armed forces 26.
West Khasi Hills has three active cases, Ri-Bhoi 50, West Jaintia Hills 10, East Jaintia Hills 14, West Garo Hills 16, South West Garo Hills four, South Garo Hills two, East Garo Hills one and North Garo Hills two.
All the 38 recovered cases were from East Khasi Hills with 26 of them from the BSF and 12 are civilians. The total recovered cases now has gone up to 173.
