SHILLONG, Aug 4: Meghalaya on Tuesday recorded 15 new COVID-19 cases and 66 recoveries, the Health department informed.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr. Aman Warr informed that out of the 15 new cases, nine are from East Khasi Hills district (civilians – five, armed forces – two and BSF – two), Ri-Bhoi one and West Garo Hills – five.
The state also recorded, 66 recoveries in the last 24 hours, with East Khasi Hills accounting for 54 of these (civilians – 14, armed forces one and BSF – 39), South West Garo Hills – four, Ri-Bhoi one and West Garo Hills – seven (one armed forces and six civilians). The state now has 330 recovered cases.
Meanwhile, the State now has 582 active cases, with East Khasi Hills accounting for 473 of these (BSF-189, civilians-224 and armed forces-60), West Khasi Hills – five, Ri-Bhoi-55, West Jaintia Hills – 16, East Jaintia Hills – 17, West Garo Hills – 14 and South Garo Hills – two.
The samples sent for testing till Tuesday afternoon is 38977 out of which 37584 results were negative and the report of 476 are awaited.
Dr. Warr also informed that a total of 25218 stranded residents has so entered the State.
